Mission Statement

We launch Yeouido Institute Foundation devoted to studying policies for long-term national advancement in various areas. Yeouido Institute will contribute towards successful completion of tasks of the globalization era, and also will contribute to our efforts to bring about timely reunification of divided people of Korea.

The world is at a crucial crossroads.

New order of unlimited competition among countries is emerging as traditional ideological divide and national borders are receding. Under such new order, many expert observers foresee the Asia-Pacific region at the center in the 21st century.

Yeouido Institute will strive to lay intellectual foundation in all areas including politics, economy, society and culture in order for Korea to play the leading role and to advance as a hub nation in the Asia-Pacific era. Domestically, the momentum of devolution and localization will provide both opportunities and trials simultaneously.

Yeouido Institute aims to ensure desirable devolution and localization outcome, in which localities add to national strength via healthy competitions, instead of diluting national competitiveness through conflicts and enmity among them.

Reunification environment is changing

Yeouido Institute shall pursue studies on all possible methods of peaceful Korean reunification so that it would maximize capability of Korean people to contribute to the world history.

Yeouido Institute, in order to efficiently pursue such a task, will enlist highly competent experts in various areas. We will be establishing conditions under which these experts can effectively obtain results in their respective areas.

Yeouido Institute is launched as a foundation fully funded by Democratic Liberal Party. However, it will have a full autonomy and independence in terms of its operation and research contents.

Yeouido Institute shall strive to achieve status on par with the leading global research institutes. We are confident that the launching of Yeouido Institute will set a new milestone in the history of national policy research in Korea. As such, we would like to seek the support and guidance of countless experts in a wide range of areas.
